An accounting assistant has a key position to initialize all incoming payment bills on a daily basis.  He/she will be responsible to check all bills and prepare a summary to charge all expenses in the respective budget line. 


Keep all financial records for internal and external audits quarterly and annually. He/She should have enough knowledge of financial transactions i.e. debit and credit including the process of debit notes to other branches.

JOB PURPOSE

 Checking of bills and an accurate record of financial transactions
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Check bills against supporting documents and for mathematical accuracy and prepare a covering vouchers.

Prepare cheques against approved vouchers and arrange dispatch.

Bank account/s reconciliation.

JVs for non-cash/bank transactions.

Preparation of staff salaries and processing of staff loan applications.

Maintenance of petty cash.

Compliance with documentation and reporting requirements specified by the jobholder's Supervisor.

Any other responsibilities allocated to the jobholder.
